DHUMDHAR KANDI PASS TREK
Dhumdhar Kandi Pass, also known as the “Smoky Ridge Forest,” is a high-altitude pass in Uttarakhand that connects the holy pilgrimage sites of Gangotri and Yamunotri. It is 5490 meters / 18012 feet above sea level. The ancient route for villagers from Uttarkashi and Gangotri to enter the remote Tons Valley was through this mighty pass. The Kalanag (Black Peak) glacier, as well as the glaciers from Swargorohini and Bandarpoonch on either side of the Dhumdhar Kandi Pass, feed the two mighty rivers Bhagirathi and Yamuna, making this trek truly special. The pass is located at the base of two well-known Garhwal Himalayan peaks, Kalanag and Swargarohini. It’s known for its difficult terrain and climate, as well as its erratic weather.
The Dhumdhar Kandi Pass trek is only for experienced trekkers who are familiar with using ice axes and microspikes, as well as possessing a high degree of physical and mental endurance. The Dhumdhar Kandi Pass trek is an adventurer’s dream, known for its unexplored trail and challenging topography.
