Overview

The Char Dham Yatra, starting from Haridwar, is one of the most significant pilgrimage tours in Uttarakhand, taking devotees to four sacred temples: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Each of these Char Dham destinations offers a unique spiritual experience and is nestled in the breathtaking Himalayan mountains. The journey begins with a trek to Yamunotri, the source of the Yamuna River, followed by a visit to Gangotri, where the holy Ganges originates. The journey continues to Kedarnath, home to the Kedarnath Temple, one of Lord Shiva’s 12 Jyotirlingas, accessible via a scenic trek. Finally, pilgrims visit Badrinath, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, known for its divine aura and peaceful surroundings. This sacred Char Dham Yatra is a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage that offers both spiritual enlightenment and the opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the Uttarakhand Himalayas. Day 01 :

Haridwar — to Barkot

Pickup from Haridwar Railway Station and drive to Barkot via Mussoorie. En route, visit Kempty Fall (ideal for lunch as limited restaurant options exist after this). Arrive in Barkot and check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Barkot.

Day 02 :

Barkot — Yamunotri

Drive to Jankichatti/Phoolchatti, where the trek to Yamunotri begins (6 km). The trek can be completed on foot, by horse, or doli at an additional cost. Enjoy scenic views of lush valleys, conifers, rhododendrons, and other Himalayan flora.

Day 03 :

Barkot — Uttarkashi

Check out from Barkot hotel and drive to Uttarkashi. On arrival, check in to the hotel. Uttarkashi, known for its historical monuments, temples, and ashrams, lies on the banks of the Bhagirathi river. In the evening, visit the Vishwanath Temple. Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.

Day 04 :

Uttarkashi — Gangotri and Back

After breakfast, drive to Gangotri, located in the Garhwal Himalayas. Upon arrival, take a holy dip in the Ganges, visit the Gangotri Temple (dedicated to Goddess Ganga), and explore the 18th-century temple. In the afternoon, return to Uttarkashi for an overnight stay.

Day 05 :

Uttarkashi — Guptkashi

Drive to Guptkashi via Moolgarh and Lambgoan. En route, see the beautiful Mandakini river at Tilwara. Upon arrival in Guptkashi, check in to the hotel and visit the Ardh Narishwar Temple in the evening. Overnight stay at Guptkashi.

Day 06 :

Guptkashi — Kedarnath

After breakfast, drive to Sonprayag and then begin the 21 km trek to Kedarnath. Hire a horse or doli for the trek (cost not included). On arrival, check-in to government camps/lodges (guest’s arrangement). Overnight stay at Kedarnath (or return to Sonprayag based on strength and preference).

Day 07 :

Kedarnath — Guptkashi

Before dawn, take a bath and reach the Kedarnath temple for the early morning ‘Abhishek’ ceremony. Afterward, trek back from Kedarnath to Sonprayag. Vehicles will be waiting at Sonprayag for the drive back to Guptkashi. Overnight stay in Guptkashi.

Day 08 :

Guptkashi — Badrinath

After breakfast, drive to Badrinath and check-in at the hotel. Take a bath in Taptkund and visit the Badrivishal temple. Explore nearby sites like Mana Village, Vasundhara Waterfall, Bhim Pul, and Vyas Gufa. Overnight stay in Badrinath.

Day 09 :

Badrinath — Joshimath – Rudraprayag

After morning darshan at the Badrinath temple, drive to Joshimath and then proceed to Rudraprayag. This region is a sacred destination for Hindu pilgrims, with stunning views of the Alaknanda river and Neelkanth mountains. Overnight stay in Rudraprayag.

Day 10 :

Rudraprayag — Haridwar

After breakfast, drive back to Haridwar. End of the tour.
